Our Need For Others

John 11:1-3 NIV
"Now, a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary, and her sister Martha. (This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one 5who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair.) So the sisters sent word to Jesus, 'Lord, the one you love is sick.'"
John 11:41-42 NIV
"So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, 'Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.'"
John 11:43-44a NIV
"When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, 'Lazarus, come out!' The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face."
John 11:44b NIV
"Jesus said to them, 'Take off the grave clothes and let him go.'"
It takes a community to strip us of our grave clothes.
Philippians 2:1-3 NIV

Romans 8:1-2 NIV

Learn to recognize the voice of your enemy vs. the voice of your Heavenly Father.
Romans 8:5 NIV
"Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."
Romans 8:6 NIV
"The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace."
Romans 8:7-8 NIV
"The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God."
Romans 8:9-11 NIV
"You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. The end game of God’s love for us is more worship.

John 12:1-3 NIV
"Six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume."
