Sermon Notes

Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭46‬-‭49‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

"Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock.

When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

Has there ever been a season in your life when you didn't have peace?

Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. "Follow me," Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him.

Is there a group of people that you believe are your greatest enemy?

Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭29‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them.

Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭30‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"

Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean."

Matthew‬ ‭23‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness."

May we seek to have the heart of Jesus toward the lost and broken of this world.

Luke‬ ‭5‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
