The Power of Outreach Partners
July 16, 2024 | Kyle Krober
Everyone’s familiar with the concept of partners. You’ve got Bert and Ernie, Timone and Pumbaa, Woody and Buzz, business partners, partners in crime…you get the point. Partners help us accomplish things we’re not likely to make happen if left on our own. Kingsway is no different.
Over the years, we’ve had several different local and global ministry partners. And just as sports have seasons, there are seasons to every partnership. Some partners we connect with for decades, while others may be just a few years. Partnerships come and go based on a variety of reasons. It could be a change in leadership, a vision shift, financial reasons, or God simply rearranging partners we support for a given season.
Regardless of their longevity, we’re always grateful for partnerships in ministry. They allow us to expand our mission beyond the walls of the church as well as help other ministries fulfill their calling and vision. This is done primarily through prayer, sending teams and resources, as well as offering financial support.
In Acts chapter 1, Jesus told his disciples to be his witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. It’s a calling to move from the inside, out. Next-door neighbor to distant-country. And as you go, be a witness for Jesus.
Locally, Kingsway currently supports Wheeler Mission, Shepherd Community Center, Hope Healthcare, and Sheltering Wings. While on the global side of things, we’re in partnership with Mexico (WWHO), S. Dakota (Diamond Willow), Peru (New Hope), and Reach India.
What I love about all our partners is that they each do something unique, while bringing the hope and love of Jesus into their individual ministry. There are hurting, poor, and spiritually lost people all around. One of the greatest ways to push back darkness and introduce the light of Jesus is through meeting real felt needs. It’s said that filling the belly with food allows the eyes of the heart to be open. People have a hard time listening to your message of love unless they first experience love. We’ve seen this lived out so many times among all our partners.
And not only are lives changed by those who our partners minister to but the lives of those at Kingsway are also changed as they step out and GO to serve alongside our partners. This can be done 15 minutes from Kingsway or 15 hours away in a foreign country. God often does incredible life change in us as we give of our time, talents, and treasures to serve others. I hope you’ll consider how God might want to use YOU in what He’s already doing in the world. There are always opportunities to serve others as you grow in your own, personal relationship with Jesus.
