Hope Healthcare

It’s a tad ironic
that I’m sitting here at a local coffee shop writing this blog featuring Hope Healthcare, just minutes after leaving the dentist’s office. To put it bluntly, I hate the dentist. Correction, I love all dentists. I hate how uncomfortable dentists make me feel while they do a superb job of taking care of my dental hygiene.
As I checked in for my appointment, the gal at the desk asked the usual questions as to any insurance or address changes. For years my answer has always been, “no.” This time, however, I actually did have a change in health coverage that included a new dental plan.
Initially, it was a bit of a hassle going through the whole process of applying, switching over, confirming all my info, and getting new cards issued. But the more I sit here and reflect on that process, I find myself a bit more grateful for all those hassles because it means I have health insurance. Frankly, I can’t imagine the anxiety that would accompany someone walking through a season without health coverage. Thankfully, there’s an option for such individuals.
Since 2005, Hope Healthcare has been ministering to those who have no health insurance. A health crisis can be devastating both emotionally and financially, especially for those with limited resources. Over time, those struggling due to a lack of insurance coverage became a felt need in our community and a few medically minded folks from Kingsway felt God leading them to do something about it. Hope Healthcare was created to reduce the physical, emotional, and financial burdens for those in our community.
Today, patients are seen and treated by the staff, as well as medical and dental professionals who donate their time to make a difference in people’s lives. Every patient served at Hope Healthcare has not only their physical needs addressed but is encouraged to shed light on any emotional or spiritual pain as well. The whole person is in mind. Hope Healthcare believes true hope is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. They don’t shy away from that.
Over the years Hope Healthcare has served thousands of residents, bringing healing and hope to the vulnerable and hurting. If you’re interested in learning more or volunteering in some capacity, check out their website: myhopehealth.org
