June 26 - Daily Pause

June 26, 2020 | Megan Yoder

Read: Acts 21:17-20

Reflection: When they arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers and sisters gave them a warm welcome. This makes me want to stand up and clap my hands. I want to shout well-done brothers and sisters! As the Campus Experience minister here at Kingsway along with an amazing team of volunteers, this is why we exist. We want every single person who visits Kingsway to feel welcome and we want to remove as many barriers as possible; so they are free to connect with God and each other. God reveals to us often in the Word how important a warm welcome and hospitality truly are. As you pause and reflect today ask God where it is in your life you could practice the calling of hospitality. Maybe you could bake cookies and deliver them with an encouraging note to a neighbor, host a couple of friends for dinner or maybe it’s a couple of cups of tea and letting your littles have a play date while you catch up on life. No matter how God calls you in this way when it is done with your eyes fixed on Him, I trust He will be right there with you and who knows, He might even be clapping and saying, well-done brothers and sisters.

Prayer: Father, I see how you weave hospitality throughout your word. Please show me how to practice this in my own life. I can get busy and allow so many things to take my time and attention. I want to be a reflection of your love and sacrifice for the benefit of going deeper in my relationship with you, while also taking the time to connect with others.
