June 22 - Daily Pause

June 22, 2020 | R.V. Peter

Read: Hebrews 10:19-25

Reflection: What a powerful piece of scripture. This "call to persevere in faith" opens strong by calling us to a BOLD CONFIDENCE of entering into the Most Holy Place. We are called to do this by the power of the Blood of Jesus through the "curtain" (or veil if you will) which is his body that was torn. As the body of Jesus was torn so was the veil that was in the temple, the veil that separated the most holy place from the people and only the high priest could enter. But when it tore from top to bottom and the Lord was set at the right hand and made the Highest Priest, we were invited to come into that place with him. We were asked to enter with boldness than thanksgiving, to enter with request and praise, to come as we are and be with him. This passage is rich with things we could spend hours talking about but I believe the meat, the solid food, we are meant to chew on is the boldness and the invitation to connect on a deeper level. The desire of the Lord to invite us into the holiest of places to be with him. Today take time to connect with the Lord in the inner court, in the holy place. Take time to connect with his words and the things they speak. Connect in intimacy with the Lord today.

Prayer: Papa today we ask you to guide us to your inner court, guide us into the holy place and sit with us, as we draw near to you Lord draw nearer to us, grow our Faith, grow our endurance and perseverance. Father as believers let us consider how we can be of service to each other, especially stirring up each other to the more vigorous and abundant exercise of love, and the practice of good works. We lift all this and so much more to you in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen...
