June 15 - Daily Pause
June 15, 2020 | Amos Shroll
Read: Luke 10: 38-42
Reflection: Martha opened up her home to Jesus in a kind act of hospitality, but her preparations quickly became a distraction. Though her intentions were good, the Son of God was sitting in her living room and she wasn’t taking time to listen to Him. Jesus reminds us to act as Mary did by leaning in and listening to what He’s teaching. Take time to get quiet and hear what God is saying through Scripture; read through this passage once again. Write down any distractions that might keep you from sitting in a posture of listening to God throughout your day.
Prayer: Lord, we’re often worried and upset about many things. Though our distractions can feel monumental, we know that the one thing we need more than anything else is you, Jesus. Help us to posture ourselves to sit at your feet and listen to what you would have us hear. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
