READ: Psalm 136: 1-9
REFLECTION: We all know how important it is to include thanksgiving in our prayer life, rather than just asking God for what we want from Him. These verses encourage us to pause and really think about what God HAS done for us but also what we believe He CAN do in our life. Do you truly believe that the same power that created the sun and the moon is available to you? The very same God that parted the Red Sea, healed the blind and raised Lazarus from the dead is the same God that cares about you and can perform miracles in your life! Don’t let your prayer life grow routine. Challenge yourself to consciously think of the limitlessness of God’s power the next time you pray and give Him thanks. There is no limit to what our God can do! What has He done in your life that you may not have even considered a blessing from Him at the time? What things have you not asked Him because you thought the request was either not important enough or too big to imagine God would intervene? Pause to thank Him for all He has done and will do for you!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for all the ways you answer my prayers in things both large and small. Help me to really understand the depth of your love for me. Help me to come to you with all my needs and to be able to see the ways in which you work in my life so I can glorify you in all I say and do. In Jesus' name, Amen.
